Health Benefits of Wine

Health Benefits of Wine

Most have heard that enjoying a glass of red wine at night can help reduce the risk of heart disease. It has been backed by a number of studies, filled with who I can only assume were very willing test subjects.

However, wine can do more than help your heart and give you something to do during a boring season of The Bachelor.

Below are a few lesser-known benefits of our favorite fermented fruit juice.

Better Memory

According to a Swedish study that spanned 34 years, wine protected women against developing dementia or Alzheimer's disease, especially when their only alcohol was wine. So, unlike other beverages, wine can actually HELP you remember things.

Weight Loss

The wonderful people at Washington State University found that drinking wine just before bed helps people to lose weight by burning fat and staving off late-night snacking. Resveratrol – a substance found particularly in red wine – helps to turn body-hugging white fat into quick-burning beige fat.

Less Death

According to a 2017 study published in the American College of Cardiology-

"Moderate drinking had a 13 percent and 25 percent decreased risk of all-cause mortality, and 21 and 34 percent decreased risk of cardiovascular disease mortality, respectively. There were similar findings for light drinking for both men and women."

do it for your health
